About the Organization
Shadow of Charity is a Muslim charitable organization committed to supporting individuals, families, and communities experiencing hardship. Guided by the Islamic values of compassion, mercy, generosity, justice, and service to humanity, we work to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people who need support, encouragement, and opportunities for a better future.
We believe that every person deserves to live with dignity, access essential needs, and have the opportunity to build a more secure future. Whether a family is facing financial difficulties, a child needs access to education, an older person requires assistance, or a community needs support to overcome challenging circumstances, we strive to respond with care, respect, and a genuine commitment to service.
Our work extends across communities in the United States and to educational and community support initiatives in Ethiopia, where we support a school working to provide children with opportunities to learn, grow, and develop their potential. Through these efforts, we seek to extend the spirit of charity beyond geographical boundaries, recognizing that compassion and human dignity are responsibilities we all share.
The Objectives of the Organization
- To Support Vulnerable Individuals and Families To provide compassionate assistance to individuals and families experiencing poverty, financial hardship, or difficult life circumstances, helping them access essential resources and improve their quality of life.
- Promote Education and Learning To support access to education for children and young people, including through support for a school in Ethiopia and other educational initiatives that help learners develop knowledge, skills, and opportunities for a brighter future.
- To Strengthen Communities To support community-based initiatives that address local needs, encourage cooperation, promote social well-being, and help build stronger, more resilient communities in the United States and other areas where the organization operates.
- To Care for Seniors and Vulnerable Adults To promote the welfare, dignity, and inclusion of older people and vulnerable adults by supporting their essential needs and encouraging compassionate community care.
- To Empower Communities and Encourage Self-Reliance To support initiatives that help individuals and communities build resilience, develop their capabilities, and pursue opportunities that contribute to greater stability and independence.
