About the Organization
The Shadow of Charity Organization is a non-governmental organization registered in
Ethiopia. The organization was founded with the objective of providing humanitarian
assistance to communities in Hargele, Ethiopia, in particular, promoting meaningful
involvement and the development of progress in the areas of Education, Health, WASH,
Food security and Nutrition, vulnerabilities, Humanitarian Aid and the General welfare of
the communities.
The Objectives of the Organization
- To promote access to quality education for all school going children among vulnerable households and increase the levels of literacy among adults in pastoralist and nomadic communities in the Horn of Africa
- To promote access to quality health and improve life expectancy among the vulnerable pastoralist and nomadic communities in the Horn of Africa.
- To support partnership initiative aimed at ensuring that populations living in arid and semi-arid areas have access to safe and sufficient water for both domestic and animal use.
- To improve the economic livelihood of communities that live in the horn of Africa by empowering women through women based SMEs enterprises, promotion of women reproductive health and support the sustainable of women businesses at community level.
- To provide conducive shelter facilities for orphaned children, identify their talents and enhance their access to quality education.
- To enhance sustainable food security through the support small holder farmers by the distribution of farm inputs, modern means of agricultural production and expand access to market for their agricultural produce.
- To support nutrition based feeding programs to enrich a healthier society and reduce the risk of malnutrition and infant mortality.
